EBML is your premiere Lapidary, Geology, and Gemology Club in the East Bay

The East Bay Mineral & Lapidary Club (EBMLC) was established in November 2024 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and educational organization. In less than a year, we have grown to 64 members, supported by a dedicated board of volunteers committed to sharing a passion for lapidary arts and the world of minerals.

Our outreach programs bring hands-on learning to elementary schools, libraries, and senior communities, where we showcase mineral specimens and host fun activities such as “Guess the Rock.”

Each year, EBMLC proudly hosts a Gem & Mineral Show featuring approximately 40 vendors, exhibits, live demonstrations, a spirited auction, and more. This event is our primary fundraiser, supporting essential expenses such as rent, utilities, equipment maintenance, and upgrades.

For members, we offer monthly general meetings that include guest speakers, club business, and a silent auction where affordable lapidary rough can be acquired. Proceeds from these auctions help fund scholarships, classes, and club resources. Members also have access to a fully equipped lapidary shop with designated beginner nights, as well as occasional classes in metalsmithing, faceting, wax casting, and other lapidary arts (class fees may apply to cover materials).

As a registered nonprofit, EBMLC gratefully accepts charitable donations of both funds and materials. Every contribution helps sustain our operations, maintain our facilities, and ensure the long-term success of our club.
